Carthage Junior High School

For our students and our school to reach their full potential, a regular pattern of school attendance is critical. It is in the spirit of providing each student with the best opportunity to succeed. CJHS asks students to be present every day for the remainder of the year.

🌧🌧🌧🌧 Carthage ISD will operate on a two-hour delayed start on Tuesday, March 22nd. All district and campus operations will run two hours later than normal. There may be additional delays or disruptions to transportation services due to heavy rain and flooding in some areas. Any further updates will be communicated as soon as possible.

Students will test on Wednesday, March 9. Students must arrive before 7:45 a.m. with a fully charged Chromebook. Testing will end at 11:30 a.m.

JH track meet UPDATE: NO field events will take place today. ONLY running and it will start at 3:30 pm. at Carthage High School.

Breakfast with a buddy on Thursday, March 10, at 7 a.m. In the cafeteria.

Upcoming events for Carthage Junior High 8th graders in preparation for High School Feb. 24, 2022 During the school day. Carthage High School CTE Expo - 8th graders will travel to the high school to be a part of a Career and Technology Expo. This is a great way for students to see what CHS has to offer in the classroom above and beyond the core curriculum. Feb. 25, 2022 During the school day. CHS counselors will meet with 8th graders at the Junior High to discuss choosing a graduation path and classes for next year. Students will be given a packet of information to bring home for parents. Please go through this information with your child and help them make preparations for registration for the following Monday/Tuesday. Bring your packet with you to registration. Happy Counselor Appreciation Week to Mrs. Rhiddlehoover! We are thankful for her dedication and service to our students, staff, and families.

Carthage ISD will operate on a normal schedule for Friday, February 4th. We have received good reports regarding evening and overnight operations to address concerns with travel and roadways, and we will have staff checking roads starting around 4 a.m. Any changes or updates to school schedules or operations will be communicated through our social media accounts, the district website, and local media outlets. Bulldog teams 7A & 8A will play against Center on Thursday, February 3, in the CJHS Gym. The games will start at 4:00 P.M. 🏀🐾

Carthage ISD will continue to actively monitor weather conditions tonight and throughout the day on Thursday. When necessary, we have staff members checking the roads as early as 4 a.m. to determine whether or not we can safely transport students to and from school. ​If your child is quarantined or tested positive for Covid, your child will be able to continue learning at home through Google Classroom. Each teacher will be updating their Google Classroom daily with assignments. Students should click on the link below and join the google meet at 9:30 am. 🚧The Department of Transportation is closing the road in front of The Junior High starting Tuesday, 1/18/22, from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm. It will not affect car rider traffic in the mornings and the afternoons. ⚠️If you come to the school from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm, park at the Masonic lodge and walk to the front office. ⚠️If you have any questions, please call 903-693-2751. 🚧This part of the road construction should take 2 to 3 weeks.
